RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal
Are those of you telling the OP you only pay $50 or $100 or $150 aware that he is talking about a $70-90$k 5th wheel? I doubt it.
I could tell him it only costs us $50 to renew our TT but it is a 1997 25 footer.
Our 2021 Cougar is a whole different ballgame.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal
That sounds about right. We paid just over $900 to renew the registration on our 2021 Keystone Cougar. It is based on the MSRP.

RE: Ram 2500 6.4 gas Towing 5th wheel.
I stand by what I said, because it is true. If it doesn’t conform to accepted ‘standards’ that is nothing to do with me. My 2019 hemi gets about the same MPG towing my 5er as my old 2004 Cummins. I was surprised when it worked out that way, but it did.
Comparing a modern vehicle to a 15 year old vehicle has little value.
A lot of innovation occurs in 15 years.
Any 2019 vehicle is superior to its 2004 version.
That's comparing apples to oranges. Those 2 trucks are not even remotely close.

RE: How do you decide how much to spend on an RV
Buy what you want and enjoy it now. You don't want to be sitting around years later thinking "I wish we had done this or that". It's too late then.

RE: Really Dusty Roads? Would this be viable in the US?
I've tried opening a forward facing roof vent on 2 travel trailers while going down dusty dirt roads. I can tell you that it doesn't help one bit keeping the dust out.

RE: Fifth wheel Jerking with gas truck... not as noticeable
They are still having issues. Look at the youtube video "Why We Ditched The Andersen Hitch".
I did s simple search "Andersen Ultimate 2 hitch failures".
There are just as many "why we love the Anderson hitch" articles out there as well.
Most people simply hate the Anderson hitch because of stuff they read on the internet which is ALWAYS overblown and exaggerated.
Almost none of their reasons come from first-hand knowledge, just hearsay.
ANDERSEN HITCH FAILURE RATE
It’s impossible to determine the exact failure rate of Andersen hitches as the majority are only minor and go unreported. Most drivers deal with the hitch failure themselves without reporting it or taking Andersen to court. There have been no major court cases involving damages caused by an Andersen failure.

RE: MGVWR and problems titling trailer
Take your trailer to a CAT scale first. They are certified weights so you will know for sure what your weight is. If you really are over that much, strip the trailer and then hit the CAT scale again. When you are good there head to the DMV with the CAT scale ticket in hand. Then you can get it licensed for your trip.
Thanks! Heading to a CAT scale on Saturday. Everyone I talk to from the dealer to the DMV say they have never seen this happen before. IDK .... weird for sure.
Please let us know the outcome with your problem.
